Sunday, September 7th
We took these Saturday night on our walk with the wagon while Daddy was at work. When we strolled through the park we had been at with Katie the weekend before, Ben looked up at me with sparkling eyes and said, "I'm getting a little bit thirsty. How about we get a drink from the man on the sidewalk?" So we continued downtown, bought a drink for fifty cents and sat down on a bench across from this memorial to enjoy it. The only problem was that Izzie wanted it too - I kept trying to offer her some water out of my bottle but she wanted the pop that Ben and I were sharing!
Ben was quite interested in the lights...
and resulting shadows.

We went for a drive to Wautaga Lake and Ben made friends with a man on a motorcycle who was taking a break and enjoying the view.
It was the man's idea to let Ben sit on the bike, but Ben certainly didn't argue.
The answer is no! You absolutely cannot have one.

Katie and I left the kids with Colin and popped downtown to take some more pictures!

After breakfast with Colin we dropped him off at his new job and stopped at Walmart for some diapers.
We took a sidetrip to investigate the gigantic hedge that was growing at one side of the parking lot.
Then we had to take Katie back to the airport and say good-bye. Ben actually fell asleep shortly before we got there and missed Katie leaving. When he woke up he couldn't figure out where she was. I told him she was flying home on an airplane but he didn't believe me. He thought she was in the car.
One last stop on the way to the airport for some pictures in the cosmos.

Many thanks to my two fabulous models!
Ben and Izzie enjoyed an early birthday with Katie.
I told them to stare at each other... Ben thought it was great. (I don't remember who won!)
After choir practice we took some pictures down by Buffalo Creek. I was very excited to practice on someone who could take directions! (Oops, Ben's face is overexposed!)
Of course Ben wanted to be in all the pictures.
He was being very sweet though, so we didn't mind.

Saturday, August 30th
Saturday evening we went downtown to see the old cars. The owner of this car also set up a little dog statue.
We didn't clue Ben in as to why the dog's leg was raised.
After strolling the downtown area we bought some drinks and popcorn and headed to the park to eat it. Ben and Izzie had fun playing on a bridge.

Friday, August 29th
This week we've been taking care of a little boy (4 years old) from church. Ben has been delighted with the company! They've been wrestling, telling secrets and dancing around the living room identifying letters of the alphabet!
We all went to the park to get out of the house. As usual Izzie let us know how delighted she was with screams of delight. By the time I took this picture though, the heat had subdued her and she was ready for a nap.
She is doing lots of standing and is very excited to come to us when we call to her, but still won't move her feet. She will either lean forward with her feet planted until she falls into our arms, or get down and crawl to us.

I got this little tutu out of the share closet at Colin's school - the share closet contains free stuff that goes to Goodwill if nobody takes it. Every little girl likes to pretend to be a ballerina, so I thought it would be great for dress-up when she gets a little older. Doesn't it look like she's doing stretches at the barre?
After putting it on her I realized that it had some issues - the skirt sticks straight up!
