We were lucky to get a visit from Grandma Ann & Grandpa Steve which overlapped with a short spring break. I was falling down on the job of photographer, so most of these photos are courtesy of Grandma Ann! (Thank you!)
There's a very scenic park near our house, but far enough that we need to drive with the kids. It has exercise equipment, walking trails, bridges, an open field and a small swimming pool. It is also usually crowded to the point that one would think there was some sort of festival or special event taking place, but no, that's just the way it is here.
We took some pictures on the steps.
Not bad... definitely an improvement over this attempt:
Colin sometimes likes to use the kids as weights. Izzie frequently gets a ride on his back while he does push-ups.
Here are Grandpa and Izzie displaying the crowns Izzie made with the Toobers and Zots (or some such thing).
Grandma and Grandpa's visit overlapped with my birthday. Izzie picked out a cake for me complete with an elephant and giraffe which I gave to the kids to eat before discovering that they were in fact, inedible. Oops.
Here are Ben and Izzie on the trunk of our car the morning we enjoyed a breakfast buffet at a hotel in a neighboring city. The trunk's power is twofold, serving both to immobilize and amuse. Good thinking, Grandma!
There were lots of hugs and stories and games - and laundry and dish-washing not done by us. This photo may look like a hug (or a strangle?) but I believe a very patient Grandma was making a "Ben sandwich" at the time.
Sorry we didn't make it to screen golf, Grandpa Steve. We did that on purpose to make sure you would come back.
As always the visit flew by - at least for us. We can't wait to see you all again, whenever that may be.
