Practicing for the Recital

Actually, the recital is over. - I'm late posting this video.  Everything went well, they got the piece memorized and no siblings were harmed in the practicing of this duet!

Family Photo

We went to a lovely Easter potluck (after stopping by the urgent care clinic to make sure Ben's swollen white throat wasn't infected where his tonsils had been removed) and one of the guests took family photos.  Everyone cooperated, had their eyes open, and even smiled.  This will probably never happen again, so enjoy!

Donkey Basketball Game

Yes, you read that correctly.  Apparently this is a thing in Oklahoma.  There is a company that brings in donkeys, and people sit on them and play basketball.  Or try to.  Most of the fun comes from stubborn donkeys tipping their riders off, refusing to move, or moving just as the rider attempts to get on.  In this particular case the game was a fundraiser for a local school, and students played against teachers. It was pretty funny, though at times I felt bad for the donkeys - especially when they put the biggest guy on a small donkey.  I didn't feel too bad for the girls in tutus who had to run out onto the floor and clean up the donkey droppings though.  Izzie and Ben went for a short donkey ride across the gymnasium floor at halftime, and Grandma Patsy bought them tasty snacks from the canteen.

New Year, New Blog Post...

Shouldn't be hard to beat last year's record-breaking 5 posts.   I'm setting the bar low, folks.

Our list of things to be done before leaving Korea is extensive.  One of the items on the list was to get my eyes checked since glasses are so affordable here.  While we were there we had Ben's checked too.  It turns out he could use a pair of glasses.

We were able to get both my new glasses and Ben's for under $200 - everything included - and the kids got free ice cream bars while we waited.  You can see the coffee shop area to the right of Ben in this photo.  Patrons can help themselves to coffee, hot chocolate etc. while they are waiting for their glasses. We are surely going to miss the convenience of things like this when we are in the US!

Resemblances

It's easy for me to see Colin when I look at Ben, but harder for me to see myself when I look at Izzie.  However, here are two photos in which I see it!

Izzie's class presented the battle of Jericho last Friday at chapel.
