We had a wonderful visit with Grandma Ann and Patsy over part of their spring break. Ben read and was read to for hours... surprisingly the Hungry Hippos didn't come out until the morning our visitors left. Poor Grandma Ann had to sit through more tellings of "The Little Engine That Could" than any human should have to endure within a 3 day period. Ben's taste in literature was a little more ecclectic with Grandma Patsy. They spent a lot of time checking out Good Housekeeping and learning interesting facts from "Caterpillars, Bugs and Butterflies." (Thanks, Grandpa Steve!) For example, did you know that the luna moth doesn't eat, and in fact does not even have a mouth?
Sunday after church, armed with Chinese take-out, we went up to Watauga Lake to have a picnic. We ate, chatted, strolled around, and I managed to take a number of not- quite-sharply-focused pictures. Whoops!

Hey now... what about a Daddy and his little boy? We over here think that that's pretty cute too!
One other thing that strikes me about this entry... How determined and confident Izzie looks walking alongside Ben. Wow!
