Race

Recently Colin was in a race that took place in a national park about an hour from our house. We all made the excursion together and I took pictures while Colin exercised and Ben played - we all got to do something we enjoy!

Colin and Ben before the race. He was number 86. Not sure how they chose the numbers, though, as there were only 59 entrants.

One of the race officials had the job of writing each entrant's age on the back of his or her calf!

Ben saw some older boys with their shoes off wallowing in the mud up to their knees and desperately wanted to join them. He kept asking to go in the "bath!" I hadn't brought an extra outfit so I vetoed the mud wallowing. Luckily Ben was content to settle for splashing in the water off the end of the boat ramp instead.

He's just so cute I had to add another picture even though it's similar.

They had free tattoos and stickers. I thought we might have to put it on his belly in order to find an expanse of skin wide enough for it to fit!
